Longest Winning Streak

I was watching a special about Trinity Squash and their winning streak that has spanned 11 years. They then posted the longest winning streaks from other NCAA sports and Texas Baseball shares the record with another school. 34 Straight Wins in 1977. Impressive. I had no idea.

The way we lost the streak was gut-wrenching. We lost to Rice, 4-3.

Runner on third; our best bunter the plate. But he pops up the bunt and the runner was doubled off third.

I cried.

We didn't go to Omaha that year, despite such an impressive streak.

I think we broke our own record when we won 34 straight. Then some wannabe tied it.

Texanne you at that game? cuz I was, first game of a doubleheader back in the days when they did em. If I remember correctly that game went 14-15 innings. Texas won the shortened second game.
