LOL at aggy

But, but, but if you read their site, they have better football facilities than us, Mays is better than McCombs, their lead in the LSS is proof they have passed us in in athletics and so on.

Aggy reality is unreal.

My personal opinions:

I've learned that after a very long decade of this losing crap at A&M, you alternate between being pissed and being numb!

For example, starting in 2001, RC and Tim signed 7 four/five star athletes and UT signed 21 four/five star athletes.

When they signed in Feb 02, among the 21 top talented athletes, UT had 6 five star athletes and A&M had 4 two star athletes. 3-1 advantage UT.

Then for 2002, UT signed 12 four and five star athletes and A&M signed 6 in Feb 03. 2 to 1 UT advantage.

Now, from 2001 thru 2008, UT has averaged, each and every year, signing 14 four and five star athletes while A&M has averaged only 6!

Over a 2 to 1 advantage UT for the whole decade!

Finally, in November 07, Byrne started replacing our 10 man coaching staff. Their resumes show that of those hired, they cumulatively, for the last five years, had recruited a total of 2 (two) four star recruits! A hiring disaster!

The new staff led us from a potential top five recruiting class, down to a 16th ranking.

We had some 11 decommits the past year, several at the last minute, for various reasons, including 6 four star athletes to schools that included UT, ou, osu, and isu!

Recruiting included head to head losses and grade risks not to be learned about until this next fall.

Our defensive coordinator bails after one month, after reportedly remarking in Houston , that the talent level wasn't what he expected!

A&M has zero commits two weeks after their junior day and UT already has 6 of the cream of crop athletes in Texas committed, and probably will be in double digits by next weekend.

We fired one athletic director and one head coach early in the decade, we still suck 5+ years later and those directly responsible still get their contracts renewed?

And nobody at A&M seems bothered by this status quo of decade long sucking?

Given the resumes, recruiting results for last year and now 09, we're inexperienced and hence lacking .

Some of our coaches have lived in and/ or recruited Texas the last few years, so it's not like they don't know the high school coaches and players?

A couple of coaches that had committed 3 four star athletes each this past year were not retained?

A&M had offers out to most of UT's 09 commits and expected commits. Our coaches are not competitive.

There is no reason to expect anything but disaster in recruiting and on the field this year? And if immediate changes aren't made, A&M will continue second rate status for years to come!

Would you like to know what is really bothering me?

Numb and po'd.

A&M can make a huge case for recruits once the new coaching staff shows what they can do. And they'll always have the old "look what we did to UT with less talent" standby statement if they suck.

I think the problem is that Texas is on the national stage...and A&M is considered to be a bit cultish.

I know that this is a dissenting opinion, but I think yall might have canned fran too quickly. I think his past two years you guys had fairly decent teams, and the talent gap (on the field- I'm not talking rankings) was as close as it's been since Mack got here and got the program established. I'd take your offensive line (in total) and your group of running backs over the similar unit at Texas. I'd even maybe take your front 7 over our front seven- or if given the choice I wouldn't be totally pissed off about taking yours.

Our receiving cops was better than yours, but no real game breakers in there so it's more or less a non-issue. Anyway, Fran beats us two years in a row, and other than the Miami debacle this past year he didn't goof up any games. You guys had a brutally hard schedule, and with this team the year previous schedule might have competed to win the big 12.

WOW...seems like the A&M staff sets low goals for themselves and consistently fail to meet them.

aggy has to be missing the good old days, like when Fran was head coach...he was good for at least one or two verbals out of their junior days. The silence over at Bagdad on the Brazos is deafening these days.

Okie St. managed to beat the Thieves a couple of years in a row too, I believe they cost them a couple of BXII championship games...as DKR said, "the sun don't shine on the same ol dog's butt every day." or something like that.
