‘Dictator’ Mayor of Godley resigns after no-confidence vote by city council

"Former Godley Councilwoman Jennifer Thompson ... was arrested on Godley City Hall steps and charged with a fake charge (tampering with city council agenda) to keep her from attending the council meeting. She was jailed, strip searched and kept in jail for the next day. Charges were immediately dropped."

I guess that's one way to win a tight vote, jail your opposition on fake charges on the date of the council meeting.

(Now Former) Mayor "McGehee 76, collaborated with Godley police before Thompson, 42, was arrested on the steps of Godley City Hall minutes before the council meeting began. The arrest warrant shows the mayor talked to investigating officers before charges were filed."

"At her arraignment before Johnson County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Robert Shaw, Thompson said she asked if he realized what she was being booked for. Thompson says Shaw replied that he doesn’t read the warrants; he just signs them."

Some Muslims objected to teaching LGBT and specifically that there was no way to opt-out of the lessons in local schools so the Dem council member essentially called them white supremacists.

"This issue [of LGBTQ+ instruction] has unfortunately put… some Muslim families on the same side of an issue as White supremacists and outright bigots.

I would not put you in the same category as those folks, although, you know, it's complicated because they're falling on the same side of this particular issue," Kristin Mink continued. "And that is equality."

Now Mink is apologizing to Muslims. So are they bigots or not, Ms. Mink??
