Little Woodrow's off of Parmer/Metric...

went and had a beer there today. Outside of the fact it's in a strip mall, it's a solid spot.

It is atleast the corner business of the strip. Keep in mind this isn't one of those half mile strip centers but 3 or 4 smaller ones with decent decor.

Deck is about 25% bigger than 6th st location. Inside is atleast double the size. Decor is the same. If you woke up inside the place you would think you were at the other one (size and setup being equal).

Bar is much bigger and the TV situation is lightyears better. They have set it up so that you have multiple tv's at every view. There is more internal seating, both booth and table. Deck, as mentioned, is larger and you still have the "garage door" entry to the outside.

Most importantly the bartender is smoking hot. I mean smack your momma hot. Waitresses were decent.

Clientele was mostly the 30yr old professional crowd with some blue collar mixed in.

All in all it's a terrific north austin alternative to Cool ******* River and Sherlocks. Definitely would watch a sporting event there, while I wouldn't at the 6th st location because there are better options downtown.

Of course, something bearable opens in N Austin just as I'm moving central.

That certainly sounds... far away.

You should have just driven the rest of the way to Dallas and come hung out with me.

Excellent news! Glad to hear they are finally open. I rode my bike by on Saturday morning, but couldn't tell as it was early.

We're still living off Parmer and are very excited by what's going into that shopping area: Little Woodrow's, WHATA(*******)BURGER, and Curra's. (Don't really care about the rest of it.)

employee talent is not the same overall, however that is more of a compliment to the 6th st location.

We had a couple beers on Friday night and the place was absolutely packed. Great crowd. Good thing it's a large bar.

This is our crew's new joint.

And since my wife and I live right there, in Milwood (don't even have to touch Parmer or McNeil to get home, just drive through the neighborhood), that is a super sweet added bonus.

I'm so glad this bar kicks so much ***.

GREAT place to catch a game and they've got my Indy Brew on tap.

Also, is the fact that they haven't picked up the (elder) Cool River folks (yet)

There about 2 or 3, or more, nights a week. Will always takes care of us.

Good description uphh... "Solid"

I went this past Saturday and was underwhelmed. We went there to watch the UT basketball game and catch some of the football games on later on in the day. They don't serve any food whatsoever. What is that? I would have had to stop somewhere else and eat before I went there to watch a game? I may as well stay and watch the game where I stopped off to eat in the first place.

Pleased to announce that JohnMueller's BBQ will be doing " BBQ Night " every Friday ( 4pm - til?) at Woodrow's on Parmer. Hope y'all can drop by.
Barbecue AND beer...it's a beautiful thing .

I went a couple weeks ago, and thought it sucked. I guess its alright to have a beer with a friend or date. Definitely for an older crowd or married people.
