I live here. Yes it sucks. It is better than Waco, but that isnt saying much, and as much as Waco sucks it is atleast 103 miles from Austin.
If your coming up to LR for our Subregional, I figured i'd give you a good idea of some things to do and eat while your here. This is mostly for the types that would enjoy going to Casino El Camino or the Jackalope. All others could probably have a good time at a piano bar.
Eating Food
You should go to Vino's on Chester and West 7th. It has good pizza and the play the Judy's while you eat or drink their awesome brewed beer. Bands play there too, but you never know if they are going to be awful or not.
Hanaroo Sushi Bar on Capitol Street is awsome. It is really pretty cheap and the sushi is good. They have cool music playing most the time and their happy hour is long and awesome.
For the best burger in all of Little Rock, you must go to Midtown at 1316 main street. The place reminds me of a scary Showdown where you can score pcp, but it is actually a really cool place. It doesnt close until 5 am and there is always a band playing, even very late. Their burgers are simply amazing.
Rhumba Revolution room in the River Market District is good for Cuban food, and their music venue that is attached is pretty cool, but there arent any great bands playing this weekend.
Nightlife
Hmm... There is the Rivermarket, but it isnt that great. There is this place called the Flying Saucer which is nice, they have a bunch of beer on tap.
Damn.... folks this isnt easy. This place is only fun if you have a 4 wheeler or a big screen TV.
If you want to pick up skanks, there is this absolute abomination for a nightclub called The Electric Cowboy.
If you are gay, there is this bar called Sidetracks that has $5 pitchers of beer. The folks there are really nice.
If you are here on Saturday night and you want to see a rock show, I am turning the basement of my new house into a music venue called The Lazer Puzzy. This band the Attractive and Popular are playing. It should be awesome. Send me a private message if you'd like to go.
That is all i got folks. If anyone else has anything to add, please do. OH ALSO.... dont bother going to the Clinton Library, it has nothing to look at that is even remotely interesting.
