Lions Municipal Golf Course

In December, 2009, the Board of Regents voted to keep the Brackenridge Field Laboratory open. The Regents’ also motioned that the future of the Field Lab will be reviewed again in 10 years, approximately when the leases on Muny and WAYA end. SO...Muny is safe until approximately 2019.

Currently, "Save Muny" is trying establish Lion's in the National Historic Landmark registry. This year it was granted a historical subject marker through the Texas Historical Commission as it was documented as the first desegregated golf course south of the Mason-Dixon line. Hopefully its historical landmark designation will make it less attractive for development.
