Looking at the original poster's 2nd link, CBS Sportsline's "The Edge" matchup summary, I see three debatable points:
1. they rank Stanford's frontcourt edge over Texas equal to Texas' backcourt edge over Stanford. Personally, I don't think Atchley/James/Johnson/Pittman will be quite as ineffective as the Stanford backcourt.
2. they rate intangibles as a "push". Uh, no. Playing the game in Houston swings the intangibles in Texas' favor -- big time.
3. "The Longhorns' scoring comes from their guards." Well, yes and no. 60% of our season scoring average comes from our guards. However, our top 3 guards are rarely on the bench. When a team plays a 3-guard lineup and guards account for 60% of that team's scoring, I don't find it surprising, and I don't think it's an indictment of the big men, which is somewhat the implication.
Swing and a miss. I like the format and the analysis, though. Thanks for the link.
