Interesting website devoted to the hypothesis that RNA was the basis for the origin of life.

I think the Archeological findings may be the more persuasive evidence, but the most common scientific references you see when people look for that type of info are:

The OT claims the earth is a sphere when man mostly believed it to be flat until modern times.

The OT says the earth is suspended on nothing, while ancient man theorized it was on a giant turtle or elephant, held up by Atlas, etc.

The OT refers to stars as numberless, while Galileo and others estimated there were 3,000 or so stars.

The Bible speaks of great mountains found in the depths of the seas, a discovery not made for years and years later.

Matthew Fontaine Maury, who is considered the father of modern oceanography, said he got his inspiration for research from a scripture in the Bible about ocean currents which would have been written thousands of years before science had verified their existence.
