LHN making UT academics better

Glad to see Liberal Arts get some love. I'm sure some can't imagine majoring in anything that isn't pre-professional, but the best thinkers and commnicators I've come across in the military, grad school, and business have been Texas COLA alums.

I also like seeing how the business of big time college athletics ultimately serves the academic mission of the University. Is there a lot of money being made? Sure, but these are still not-for-profits. The best run high-impact not-for-profts (American Red Cross, Metropolitain Museum of Art, etc) get this.

Seven endowed chairs is pretty incredible and speaks to why Bill Powers has not been vocal about the ESPN carrier negotiations, dont rock the boat when the boat is bringing in so much cash to his academic prgrams.

COLA alum here and would definitely do it again. Started out as a business major (like most everyone else it seemed in the mid-80s) and quickly realized that I didn't like accounting or economics or most any of that curriculum.
