Cox is the third largest cable network in the nation. I find it ironic that between ATT and COX, 90% of all Oklahoma TV sets have Longhorn Network while central texas has no access. The okies arent as pissed as I thought they'd be, but there is a smattering of "call and threaten to quit" and "why am I paying for this crap" on sports talk radio and Okie message boards.

Got to see the BU Texas Game monday nite........very nice.

Tell you what, you get us a HEB central market here in Tulsa we'll trade you our access to LHN.

Hopefully DirecTV will be the next shoe to fall. I want the LHN badly, but I have a vow of eternal and utter hatred for cable (and Cox is right up there on my list) and I'm not going back.

I know very few people in Austin that don't have the LHN. I think what he meant to say, in order to make it a true statement, was that less than the percentage he gave for Oklahoma have it in Central Texas. If his number is right, he is right. If he made it up like the rest of it, I dunno. Where do the numbers come from?

I won't ever question you about music, however. But these stats, yes.

Sorry guys,I was talking out of my ***. Last i was following the LHN saga most of austin was in the dark.

Just glad to get the network so far behind enemy lines.

Depending on where you live in Austin, you MAY have 2 options to get LHN, through either AT&T or Grande. Time Warner is the dominant provider here, though.

As for cable, some of us in Austin only have TWC to select from. I'm one of the lucky guys.

I've got suddenlink at home and DirectV in the motorhome. Neither will have LHN anytime soon........if ever.

Kirk Bohls predicted that Direct TV would be next. I guess that Disney is renewing their contract with DTV this month. I have not seen any other information on it.

I base my pessimism on my continuing conversations with Suddenlink and DirectV. To what do you attribute your optimism "Mr. Know It All"?

A little history of another network might help.

Big Ten Network Carriage deal agreements

2007

DirecTV and AT&T U-Verse were the only major television providers to carry the channel at launch.

Dish Network added it a week later.

250 small cable systems carried it at launch as well.

2008

Several large cable companies in The Big Ten Region reached carriage agreements with The Big Ten Network.

2009

Cablevision added the channel in both standard and high definition.

Atlantic Broadband and BTN reached a carriage agreement.

December 28, 2009, Charter Communications and BTN reached an agreement to provide the network to Charter customers in St. Louis and Southern Illinois.

I have Comcast in metro Houston and have been frustrated with their lack of movement. However, my daughter and son-in-law got Verizon FIOS in metro Dallas and he lets me use his access code for streaming. I got a new SONY Smart TV and the browser didn't work hardly at all with LHN. However, I have solved the problem with an iPad and Apple TV. I use the LHN iPhone/iPad App to stream it to my iPad and then move the signal over to my HD TV using the Apple TV. Works perfectly.

Skip, that's impressive. LHN ought to award "customer of the month" to you. Very impressive.

Hook'em!!!
