I can't really decide if I care.
 
I just watched his "dissertation" about it on his show.

Anyone out there think they wouldn't get fired for having sex with any of their subordinates at work????

It's amazing.... he lambastes politicians and others for having an affair. But, his audience "applauds" him and "laughs" about it.

I guess it's all in the "delivery"....

Letterman doesn't represent the people. Spitzer did and was a hypocrite. Slightly different expectations for late night talk show hosts and elected representatives of the people
 
Letterman wasn't married until this year and he didn't have a kid until a few years ago. He has had the same girlfriend (now his wife) for many many years, but even she is an ex-staffer.

Personally, I'm hoping to be sleeping with one of my bosses soon down here. But I won't tell you how it goes and I won't try to extort large sums of money from her if it doesn't work out.
 
Good for Dave even if I don't care for his politics.

I see nothing wrong with work place romances so long as the office remains an office and not a prop in a sudden and grandiose greek tragedy.
 
Many people meet and have relationships with someone from work. It can be fairly normal, or it can be exploitative and coersive. The details are unknown, but some asshat tried to blackmail Letterman for $2 million and hopefully that guy will be in the slammer having sex with his close associates in the near future.

Ole' Dave's affairs don't bother me, but I wonder how he explains all this to his long-time live -in girlfriend of many years with whom he has had a baby. I think I would fear facing her wrath more than that of his bosses.
 
Letterman stopped being funny a couple of years ago. This incident will only serve to accelerate his decline.
 
Letterman is a truly a despicable and hateful man. Despite the extortion against him, he can go fornicate himself - with all due respect of course.
 
Yes, because getting blown by an intern is so akin to leaving the country on the taxpayer's dime to facilitate a full blown extra marital relationship.

He is a great story teller. It had me riveted and i already knew the story.
 
You do realize there is a difference between a comedian on TV and an elected official, don't you? Letterman may have had affairs prior to marrying his long-time girl friend, which is mainly a matter for the two of them to resolve, but it isn't anything like the crime of extortion the d-bag who got arrested committed. He should go to jail for several years.
 
Well then, I guess you should take Limbaugh to heart when he lambasts illegal drug users?

Anyway, Letterman is a hypocritcal dirtbag who needs to look at himself before he points his snotty finger at others.
 
What, are comedians supposed to be saints? Did they run for office on a family values platform? Are they instructing us in moral, religious or ethical values? If Letterman didn't do anything illegal, then it is his personal business.
