Let's guess who's coming to the Horns

I have it from unreliable third hand sources that the Horns have six spots left (Hornsports poster quoting, 247 quoting Baker)

Further three of the spots were offense and three defense. Guess we are keeping all current commits (Davis and Lampkin seem pacified).

So who else will we get?
My guess: Offense, Warren, Soso and Locksley
Defense Hill, Boyd & Mack

I wouldn't turn down Lodge or Murray if they commit in front of Soso or Locksley. And Baker and or Redwine would be fine should Hill and or Boyd go elsewhere.

Of course, somewhere among the six, maybe there's a silent commit we haven't heard from.

My new guesses based on recent developments:
Offense
Warren, Locksley and Jambo
Defense
Mack, Baker and Locke
Get 'em all and I'll be happy.

I'm not that confident.

I think Locksley and Warren will commit to us. Mack may go to TCU and Soso may go to UCLA. My hunch is that Newsome flipping from UCLA may be more probable than Soso picking us over UCLA. Just a hunch. Baker and/or Locke probably comes to us.

My feelings may change by tomorrow night I guess, though

Honestly, I like Soso and Newsome about the same and see them as a Daje, Ramonce Taylor type athlete that do well in space. Either or would be fine. I can't get a read on Mack. I'll be optimistic until I have no other choice.

There is word from everywhere as of today that we may pretty much have only Warren and Locksley coming on Wednesday. Soso to UCLA, Mack to A&M and Lodge to Ole Miss. That would still leave us with a #7 or #8 class, so nothing to sneeze at. But no big fireworks in the end. We might get a Beker and/or Locke to add to it, and finish with a couple of spots to spare. We will keep one spot for a grad transfer.

I suggest everybody expect only that at this point. If Malik can get Mack, if Soso has a change of heart, or if Newsome flips, be happy, but just hope for Warren and Locksly at this point, and no more!

If I see more optimistic stuff during the next 42 hours, I will update

I think Malik has got Mack on board. His recent comments about “everybody coming home soon” sound pretty compelling. Or maybe that’s just what I want to hear, but it seems like bold talk from someone who doesn’t appear to be a BS type of guy, so I think there's something there.

But there seems to be some subtle momentum shift in the last 24 hours or so. Not sure what is causing it, but something is up.... At least nothing to keep the momentum up for us and get some of these guys excited like last weekend when it all sounded like a done deal. At least I get the feeling when I read what the recruiting gurus are saying. I wonder if Kyler is doing his "nobody is going to Texas" but again, with that impressionable big body, Daylong Mack. But I am watching the situation and things can change, I guess...

By the way, there is even talk of aggy continuing to push for Boyd and his being "torn". It's Eric Nahlin, a Texas side guru who is saying it. So, that may not be over yet. I have no idea what is with that boy, Kris.

For some good news, there does seem to be some legs to this rumor of a Newsome flip from UCLA to Texas. William Wilkerson of scout/HornsDigest just said he talked to Newsome himself. Newsome didn't say he will flip but he did not rubbish the talk. As it is premium content, I will encourage you to pay HD to see exactly what he said

... I didn't, but I saw it posted elsewhere.

There is at least a 50-50 chance that he will flip, in my opinion. I will be very happy if we get Warren, Newsome and Locksley, which were the three I expected to be in the class to start with, about a month ago... Mack or Soso would be gravy, but Soso definitely looks out, and Mack very iffy.

I hope for the best but honestly I'm nearly out of care at this point. Let them do what they do and I trust Charlie will make good use of what we have.

I agree. I am at the same point. This year has been particularly volatile, and long-time recruiting gurus also agree. The uncommon level of communication between the top few guys is what caused the huge volatility. They say that it doesn't seem the same way for next year, as of now.

We only really need Warren and Locksley for proper depth chart reasons. Losing Boyd (can't believe it can happen; I doubt it) will hurt the depth chart. As Lampkin stayed, we are okay at DL too, even without Mack.

Basically if Warren and Locksley come and Boyd stays, we have a team without too many questions marks. Enough for Charlie to do his job (with some 12 or 13 four-stars and a 5-star) by late 2016 and in 2017. In Mack and Soso, we will lose a couple of potential difference-makers but we will have to win this year and get some more of those kinds next year. If Charlie could do this much with a 6-7 record, noting to worry next year...

Anyway, I hope everybody's expectations are sufficiently lowered for Wednesday, so that we can just enjoy 2 or 3 more four-star guys joining. I will try not to care all much more

I don't think I like Jay any more. (Just kidding.)

Offense
Warren, Locksley, Jamabo, Newsome
Defense
Mack, Baker

I just can't discount all the tweets suggesting a big NSD. The comments, body language, smiles... My sense is that Strong's character wins in the end. I certainly hope so.

It's be a fun recruiting season. Let's go to work on 2016! Jk, let's enjoy 2015 Football Season

Some programs with a lot of historical success and prestige, and aggie and Baylor, had pretty much overlooked Texas as a threat in recruiting, and I think Coach Strong has pointed out the error of their ways. He is a relentless recruiter and he put us into some conversations no one expected us to be in.
