just saw presser where Payton referred to upper classmen like Brandon and Tant told him and other frosh that goal at Texas is to win CWS, so no celebrations after regional, super, etc--Payton thought that was great cuz he saw it alot growing up in the midwest--

I went to the FSU/aggy game today, planning on seeing most of that game before I went home to watch the 'Horns. But I had to leave after the 3rd inning, cuz aggy was out of pitchers.

I never have a problem with kids dog piling when they make the CWS, its a tradition at Texas not to but others doing it is fine. Its the difference between 34 trips for the Horns and the number for each of other teams which may well be more than the rest of teams who make it combined.

We make too much of us not dog piling. It's just dumb. The kids are excited. I don't blame them one bit.

I love the tradition...especially after the 2005 dogpile got somebody injured.

But yeah the reason it is a tradition is because we are the only one who does it.

Personally, I LOVE it when other teams dogpile because they are excited. Do you know how many times guys get dinged up or even get real injuries out of those? Granted, maybe not a LOT, but there have been notable teams in Omaha without key players that were hurt in a dogpile.

That's my main reason for having Texas wait until the end. There are plenty of other ways to demonstrate your excitement from getting to the CWS.

I think it's cool that our players don't, but I don't have a problem with teams that do. They're kids, let them celebrate. For the record, though, aggy's dogpile makes it 7 of 8.

I have no problem with it. It's akin to Final Four-bound, regional hoops winners cutting down nets. Making the CWS or Final Four is quite an accomplishment.

However, I sure as **** think it's cool that we don't dogpile. As great as we are in football historically, in college baseball, there are 2 undisputed kings, and we are one of 'em.
