Let us have a frank discussion about Horns UP

To be honest with you, I think other teams doing the horns down is "taunting" but so is placing the ball on the ground in the end zone and walking away like it was simple. I don't think doing an upside-down "gig em" is fun even though gigs generally work better in the down position, particularly on frogs.

It seems to me we can be above all of this by just taking the lead and using some form of the upside-down horn sign when the Longhorns are on defense. see exhibit 1 below. UGA will understand.

As an added bonus, aggie and other little brains will absolutely explode.

I LOVE this idea.

I hate the horns down, but inly because it’s usually some obese fan who cant complete a 40 yard dash or some coed who couldn’t tell you the difference between a OT and a CB.
Im not morally superior to anyone, but i find it very odd to disrespect an amateur player while knowing that i couldn’t do anywhere close to what they do.
My distain is all about the OU or Aggie fan, not the player. Geez Aggies are great individuals, but as a group they are the most self righteous arrogant bunch of people I’ve ever been around. Not just football, but in life.
I have family that was ‘shocked’ when UT kids gave blood after the bonfire tragedy. I was equally shocked at thier response when they told me e that Aggie kids probably would have not done the same.
Yes, that’s probably not true, but to even think that is why I despise the cult.

The good thing about horns down is that you know you're in their minds - especially when someone like aggy does it during a game against someone who's NOT Texas.
 
Me giving the Horns down sign would be like me offering my wife to a pimp, or shooting my dog's puppies, or giving mouth to mouth resuscitation to an aggy.

Been gone for a while but starting to come back to the boards. This may not be a popular opinion, but to me we can't complain about Horns down until we stop saying "OU Sucks" during Texas Fight. Same-same in my mind. I hate both, but think it's part of the deal and we have to just ignore the morons who do it.

I would love to see the confusion on opponents faces and then the realization they are actually supporting Horns.

What I have always said. He sure gave uga the horns down and that ugly mutt ran for his life.

As my mother always said, my brother teases me because he knows it gets me riled up. If you ignore him he will stop. And that's the only thing that worked. I may be the only one, but I enjoy doing the horns down right back to anyone that does it to me.

I have never sang that part of the song. Its just me, i get it, but i never agreed with singing that line.

this is the part I just don’t get. There will be some random game between Boise State and Bowling Green and someone in the crowd will be doing the horns down. I never understood that :facepalm::lmao:
 
There is absolutely nothing but good fun in the horns down. I'll say this forever. When you're a big dawg, people don't like it. other schools actually do the horns down when they AREN'T playing us. that's greatness!

If we're a big dawg, we need to be able to take that we have a target on our backs more often than others.

Don't stop the horns down. It's the wussification of college sports. bring it on! :hookem::coolnana::hookem3::headbang:

When we are in DKR and the 3rd down Bevo comes out tearing up the screen isn’t his Horns down? That’s how I like to explain it to people. A bull or steer when they charge do so with their heads down
