Went and saw this tonight. Great, great movie. Highly recommended. Anyone else seen it? I won't discuss any spoilers unless I know whether or not I'm the only one here who's seen it. The Link
I saw it the other day. I really enjoyed it. I thought a couple of scenes were tonally "off," but the interaction between Eli and Oskar was intense and fascinating, and the film as a whole had great direction and atmosphere.
I don't think I'd classify it as horror.....I need to see it again to decide what I think about it with a little more clarity.
I'd like to see this. I'm a big fan of foreign horror flicks - rottentomatoes says this is comparable to Del Toro's 'Devils Backbone' and 'Pan's Labyrinth' , both excellent movies, though not necessarily 'horror' by American standards.
It is slated for an American (English) version in the next year...
Very good movie. It is a vampire movie but I wouldn't classify it as horror. My friend didn't want to see it at first because she hates horror movies but she ended up loving it. There are no gotcha moments or really gory scenes. It's very well done.
It's more a story about growing up. Coming-of-age but with vampires. The vampire parts are excellent, though.
We rented this last night. This film is really good.
No spoilers here, but a word of advice: the DVD we rented was set by default to play with English dubbed in, which really detracted from the film. I found out later that you can go into Set Up and switch it to subtitles, and hear the original Swedish and the actors' real voices.
There's a scene near the end that I can't get out of my head though. Damn.
