We won by 29....some of you are acting as though we had a loss. Granted, our D needs some work but let's leave that to the coaches. Let's be fans...and enjoy the win

Agreed. We aren't the only Top 10 team to struggle at some point in the game. And despite the struggles, we won by 4 TDs. Not bad for the 1st road game of the season. Especially given how the 1st road game of last season went.

Love the post- If I see one more negative post about how a guy has been underused or this guy is slow or how our 18 year old safeties are getting burned I for one am going to lose it.

I agree.

This team is looking exactly like the team that most thought they would be.

We are good, and we have good young talent. We will have a chance to win every game, but we show weaknesses here and there. It's like some people are surprised by that, which is a little strange if you have been paying any attention since 2005.

I think the team was mostly practicing last night.

- passing game
- playing defense

This team could have rolled up 350 yards on the ground if they'd just run the ball and passed now and then. Just imagine a steady dose of Fozzy and Johnson....

One more thing... Remember the OU bunch from 2000? (was that the year of their championship?)

The thing Stoops made a point of that whole year... was the fact they got better every week. Some teams start out pretty good and try to hit their peak at the right time and hold on with no stumbles... other times you come up with a mix that somehow locks into place by steps, as in a 45 degree curve with continued up-slope.

There's a chance this Horns group can be like that.

A lot may be disguised in these first two games. I think this team has the potential to be better and better. If it can get better at execution, the parts you can't just wish for, seem to be there. This team plays hard and plays well. But being in the right place at the right time takes practice and that goes for the coaching staff as well (game by game to find what's the best possible scheme and set of players).

The Longhorns used to win September games by 3-4 touchdowns and still drive me crazy with horrible fundamental play. They'd score 50 and I'd have squirmed through the whole game based on what I saw in the details of the play.

What I've seen in these two game is this: the things you usually can't teach or fix, are there. The things you can work on and fix, are being practiced in the games and will be fixed.

At least, that's what practice and film-review is about. So we'll see.

They've actually looked better than I thought they would at this point, and I'm usually a pretty negative fan. They have flaws, but they're not playing like they're half asleep during the non-conference season, which is a big step forward.

I had a guy tell me while waiting at the baggage claim...."We won't win another game this year if we play like we did last night." Huh? He went on to bag on the DB's (why are we starting two freshmen?), the RB's, and said the offensive line was horrendous (did he see any of last year's games?)!

My response was to tell him "I don't think we saw the same game."

He did go on to admit his expectations were high!!

I think we are going to be just fine. This Longhorn team has the chance to be very very good. The folks that are doubting the team should remember that this is a very young secondary and they are slowly improving. I like they way Coach Boom has made adjustments in the second half that shuts down the opponents. I think as they get better, he will make more adjustments on the fly (which he is known for). I'm looking forward to the Arkansas game to see the team grow a little more.
