Lester back in the Big 12.............?

Baylor needs a coach who gets more from players not universally perceived as four and five star talent, not a guy who recruits lights out and scores 16 points a game. LSU is probably in the best situation in the US to recruit talented players. Baylor is in about the 50th best position.

Crockett.

Puulleeease! If Baylor hires Les Miles, they can keep their newrol of street agents and bagmen intact, so there is no reason to start over. Just change the name on the door and start interviewing defense lawyers and bail bondsmen.

If, indeed, Miles has applied, that means ND has already turned him down. State Penn seems to now be stuck with Franklin for a couple of more years. Would Miles consider Iowa.

Two desperate parties finding each other on a dark, lonely night? Les Miles and Phil Knight

Miles did well at Stillwater to get the LSU gig
True and he certainly had LSU at or near the top of the heap for a while. I'm not contending Miles was never a good coach. I really admired him at OSU, where he actually asked administrators to reduce his salary so he could rebudget the money and hire better assistants.

Crockett, he could never rec. a QB..........was lights out on RB's, WR's and defense.....LSU has the most playing in the NFL right now but QB was his weak spot esp trying to beat Alabama running that offense....the only Natty he won was mostly Saban players.

Watching him blow a 35-3 lead and losing by 66-35 told me everything I needed to know about his ability.

What I remember most about Miles at OSU was defeating #4 OU in 2001 his first year and defeating #3 OU in 2002 in his second year. So he won 2 of 3 against OU without all the 5 star recruits.

I think it was 2007 that LSU beat tOSU for the natty which was three years after Saban left for Miami.

77% winning as HC at LSU will get you fired even in the SEC West.

Miles can do better than BU.

Bill.

True, and thank you for pointing out that his greatest successes came with someone else's recruits. Miles has pulled some of the dumbest stunts in coaching and gotten away with them. Leach is colorful and funny. Miles is colorful and not very likable. While undeserving, Baylor can do better than Les Miles; however, if both parties agree to continue their mutual appreciation for cheating, they just may be a near perfect cluster.

LH,
Surely you are forgetting Ryan Perrilloux and Russell Shepard. :smh:
No but I bet Les would..........the best QB he had was Mettenberger and as a result they have lost to Alabama 6 straight years.......kinda like Mack and his record at one pt vs big game Bob
