Legal Training Resources

New attorney here. I had been (still am) looking for an associate position, but decided to go ahead and get some office space in Austin so that I could start getting some experience. Anyway, without any kind of "mentor," I'm trying to learn all of the "how to's" of the practice of law. I know that there are tons of books out there, but I was wondering if there were any types of training videos that are available to lawyers. I've been to several CLE's at the Austin Bar and those have helped me, but I wouldn't mind watching various training videos at home. Just something as simple as a video on tips of how to take/defend a deposition or entering and excluding evidence. I did a little bit (not much) of this in law school, but it's been a while and I would like to see what kind of resources are out there. I know the Austin Bar Association has some videos of prior CLE's, but are there any other types of videos out there? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

If you haven't done so already, check out the Texas Bar CLE web site: TexasBarCLE

Lots of CLE, some of it free. There's also a section called the Ten Minute Mentor. They introduced this several years ago and I thought it was somewhat helpful at the time. I haven't looked at it in awhile though so I'm not sure if they've kept it up to date.

Good luck to you.
