David Sirota of Salon first tweeted
"@Salon: Let's hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white AmericanThe Link
7:30 PM - 16 Apr 2013

so then it comes out that the bombers are not American born and appear to be pretty radical muslims

Sirota is now tweeting and calling us bigots :
" Our reaction to terrorism shouldn't be predicated on the demography of the terrorists.Sad that bigotry apparently obscures this simple truth."

I wonder if he understands the absurdity of these tweets. Or cares how he looks

should be fired. Bigotry in accusing 2 guilty Chechnyans of a crime that they committed? What a dumb ***. At least wait until some bigotry is evident and then attack the bigots. Right now the only bigots I see are the 2 Chechnyans and the tweeter.

Lefties cannot be bigots. The liberal media told us so

Plus I missed the part where Christine Anamapour was really hoping the Boston Bombers wouln't be muslims.
ooopppsss.

The American Left is more aftraid of the Tea Party than muslim extremists. Something about law abiding, God fearing, loyal Americans is scarier to them than two foreigners who want to indiscriminately kill American women and children. I just don't get it. Maybe one of the many Lefties on this board can explain it to me.

Huh? It's kinda tough to explain a position that is wrong and bizarre.

Clean -- Can you tell me why some Tea Partiers consider the idea of an uninsured person dying on a gurney, refused treatment they cannot afford, an idea worth applauding? I'll let you off the hook. You don't have to. Because deep down most people in this country are decent and caring and if they really thought about it, that's not how they feel.

Let's not assume the stuipidest, most unkind feeling expressed by anyone towards political opponents should maybe not be taken at face value.

This is just dumb and lazy. Nobody advocates someone dying on a gurney because they do not have insurance. To say that is a tea party position shows someone needs to read more than Huffington Post or watch something other than MSNBC.

theiioftx:
Sorry I communicated so poorly: I cheerfully acknowledge that a few tea partiers applauding the idea of someone dying on a gurney at a Republican debate does not a position statement make. It was a stupid expression and one that would be renounced by even the applauders if they thought about it carefully. I'm just saying that what people say when they are angry or not thinking clearly should not be taken at face value. I think this should apply to Tea Partiers and people more to the left of center.

Croc

Really?
Really? THAT is your defense?
That is a strawman. I guess the incident to which you refer was Ron Paul saying in a devate that the person made his own choice and then unknown people in the audience chouted out that yeah the 30 y o should be left to die since he chose not to buy insurance.

It is absurd for you to try to link that to these known leftists who make their living writing or speaking to a camera and who wrote or spoke for all to see.
But Croc let's use your excuse, that if they weren't angry or upset they would never write or say such things.
Can you show me where Sirota took back what he said?

I'm not defending expressions of stupidity, but rather indicating why you should ignore them. I was hopeful that by showing a disgraceful expression attributed to the Tea Party should in no way be used to characterize the organization .. Oh hell, never mind. Carry on.

?
How do remarks made by unknown people at a public debate relate to remarks made by known people in their own forums?

You don't know the shouts were made by Tea party supporters( or just as likely by libertarian supporters of RP) but you do know the ideology of Sirota and Anamapour.

I don't see how you thought your point was relevant at all, It looked like an attempt to use the ol" but but they do it too".
next time just use the " Bush did it too" excuse.

I see nothing wrong with Christine or any other "foreign" person for not wanting the bombers to be of their ethnicity or religion. Seems like a normal thought process to me.

And once again we have members of the RW telling us libs what we think or why. I didn't care who caused the bombings as long as they were captured and we didn't end up with some further conflict or war. What a nightmare if the bombers could be traced to Iran.

How is posting direct quotes and bids of quotes being spoken telling libs what they think or why?
That is the most bizarre deflection seen in a long time.

I wonder if you will have the character to admit you were wrong.

6721, I see you have trouble with comprehension. I used two paragraphs because I had two thoughts. One was about Christine and that nothing was wrong with what she said. The other was about Clean (and many others) and his very exaggerated remarks about liberals.

when you say 'lefties', who are you referring to. lefty leaders, lefty voters, lefty media...? because lumping anyone who voted for a democrat into your view of 'lefty' doesn't accomplish much besides making people dig in their heels and identify even more strongly with a party rather than approaching an issue with independent thought and rationality.

ascribing a lack of intelligence or low morals to everyone left of you is counterproductive to actually resolving any issue.

I was hoping that they would be white Americans because when they are dark skinned foreigners we tend to go looking for somebody to invade.

Fortunately, one was a white American and the other his white brother, though not an American.

That makes the grounds for invading somebody much, much harder to assert.
