LeBron James

Was that the ugliest single-game performance by an elite player in the history of the NBA playoffs? It was friggin pitiful. Cavs have a chance to steal one from the Celtics on the road, and LeBron just nuts all over himself.

Missed the game but just saw the stat line. WOW

2-18, 0-6 3 pt, 8-10 ft, 9 rebs, 9 asts, 10 TO's, 12 pts. WOW.

Allen was scoreless. Pierce had an equally pitiful performance.

Lebron will bounce back. He always does. Cavs wasted a great effort from big Z though.

Cleveland will be in this series though for two reasons. They play give all out effort on defense. Brown has done a terrific job getting everyone to buy into his defense first mantra, especially in an age when an emphasis has been put on offense.

Second, they attack the offensive glass like no other. They will get plenty of second chance opportunities. They almost beat Detroit 2 years ago because of that, it helped them win against Detroit last year, and I think it will continue to be a big part of why they are successful.

Boston will probably pull this series out but it will be a hard fought 6 or 7 games.

He had a terrible game, but *almost* got a triple double. I was really hoping he would get another rebound and assist so that it would be the ugliest triple double in NBA history.

Even though LeBron didn't score a whole lot, his statline doesn't look that bad at first - 12 points, 9 boards, 9 assists. But then I looked closer, and saw he shot 2 of 18 and had 10 turnovers. Wow.

If you'd told me before the game that LeBron James, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen would combine for only 16 points and shoot 4 of 36 from the field, I would have thought you were crazy.

I wonder how much scratch he made for intentionally dumping that game? Scary that Celts almost got beat without him. Give the ball to BOOBIE!

He had a bad game but let's not make it into the worst showing ever by an elite player. It was game 1 on the road. If it were game 5 or game 7 and then you would have a better point.

seriously

So he missed some shots. It looked like it was just one of those nights for him. I fully expect Lebron to bounce back in game 2. Unfortunately for him, ray allen and paul pierce might also bounce back.

I, too, think the Cavs will hang around in the series, but fall short in 6, possibly 7 games.

I have watched LeBron since he came into the league. He is a pure talent. However, he has no jump shot and teams have figured him out. Magic, Bird, Jordan and Hakeem were clutch but I am afraid until LeBron discovers a jump shot that commands respect, teams will continue to cut off the lane, push him to the point and let the shot clock work against him. He will be a hall of famer, but without a compliment of guards or a power forward to take the pressure off, he will continue to have bad games, especially during the playoffs. I would say he is similar to Jordan during the latters first years in the league, but Jordan always commanded respect for his jumper.
