Pearl Harbor
South Pacific
Catch-22 (I know it's "supposed" to be a great movie, but I didn't get it. Maybe I needed some LSD).

Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you...

That movie totally sucked, but @ least it inspired one of the greatest songs in movie history.

Windtalkers is firmly based on true events, but it's by far my biggest disappointment as a WWII movie, and may be my biggest disappointment as a movie of any genre.

Worse than Pearl Harbor by far, and that's saying something.

Pearl Harbor. I went in expecting it to be decent, and historically accurate. What I got was a chick flick and stupidity like a fighter pilot suddenly flying a B-25 as part of an elite volunteer unit, among other things..

Force 10 from Navarone. I did like the end of it though (where they blow up the dam) that part was pretty good.

Pearl Harbor hands down. Ben needs to stay behind the camera where his talent lies.

I think the Thin Red Line suffered from the fact that it came out shortly after Saving Private Ryan and was very slow paced. It's quite a contrast in styles.

Kelly's Heros incorporated a bunch of whacked '60s mentality characters into a WW II background. Totally stupid

I am not a big fan of most Jerry Bruckheimer produced movies and Pearl Harbor is just one reason why.

I never really like Battle of the Bulge

Look.... unless the Thin Red Line had a subplot where some random chick had been dating both Cusak and Clooney you are all smoking crack.

I gotta agree with Crayon, that although the title of the thread is fictional WW2 movies, Pearl Harbor, by virtue of making sh*t up as they went along, easily now qualifies as the worst fictional WW2 movie ever.

Although I would submit several others for your review:

U-571, although the idea of capturing a Uboat enigma machine is based on real events, that movie, even starring the Bongoe'd one, sucked royal behind. Freaking AMERICAN submariners running a German Ubat well enough to sink another Uboat with less than 24 hours familiarization and only 1 freaking guy who can read/speak german ....

Hart's War: how to turn Bruce Willis into a royal @$$hole.....

Any of the three or four Dirty Dozen sequals that came out- pure blasphemy to the original.

Srgt York- God what a cheesy peice of fluff. Just looking for a good peice of bottom land.
Thin Red Line
Force 10 from Navarone
Victory
U571
The movie with Robert Mitchum hunting a German sub with Theodore Bikle as the U boat captain.

Rabid, please tell me you didnt just list Sergent York as a fictional WW2 movie???

see, this is where my history degree makes me want to stand up and stap a *****.

Sergent York was a WW ONE movie based on the Medal of Honor Winner's life- he became a national ******* hero for his attack on a German outpost that resulted in over 130 Germans surrendering to him personally. It aint fiction people.

As for the others you listed, I agree they all suck...
