Leasing Homes/townhomes???

This post may result in no solid answers, however, I thought I would at least try. Me and 2 other friends are planning on getting out of apartments and renting/leasing a home or maybe a townhome. I was just wondering if that was a good choice---if it would be possible to lease a house at a decent price. We don't want anything extravagant or too pricy for sure, but we would just prefer something with more space, and maybe even a yard. In your opinion, how much do you think it would cost (monthly) to lease a 3 bedroom house??? If anyone knows anyone or has any information that could really benefit us, PM me. I would appreciate it.

damn, there's plenty of homes available to rent...market is down so prices are reasonable...

check the statesman classifieds or call any broker..youll have plenty of places to look at probably this weekend

I have a 3/2 house for which I charge $1200 per month. But its in good shape. You can expect to pay $1100-1400 per month depending on size and location

actually, the rental market is pretty strong. On the aforementioned house, I had a sign on a stick as well as an ad on austin360 and I had 10 calls in the first 3 days as well as two complete rental applications in the same time frame. The house selling market is week, but renting is ok. Have you considered buying a house and charging your two roommates rent ? You can buy a $140,000-$160,000 house and charge them $500-600 each thus making your mortgage payment about $400. Not a bad idea.

I drive past about 5 "For Rent" signs every day on my to work down Red River. They have all been there for > 2 mos now.

A co-worker just rented a great 3/1 in west campus for 1050/mon, and she loves it. And no, it's not falling apart either.
