Leach back to Tech?

According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Leach is being “discussed seriously” as a candidate for the Texas Tech job. The team fired Matt Wells a few weeks ago after 2.5 years in charge.

Sorry Sabre, but I've been to Starkville and have spent plenty of time in the dust bowl. My dad grew up close to Lubbock, and I'll take Starkville without hesitation instantly every time.

Has anyone considered hiring one coach for 2 schools? Just schedule the games on Saturday morning and Saturday night. He can fly back and forth on alternate days during practice week. No conflict of interest if the teams are in different conferences. Sort of like franchising. Gawd, I’m a ducking genius.

Personally I don’t think that this is so far fetched. Leach built his reputation in Lubbock and if the powers there would sincerely reach out to him, I do believe that he would listen.

My son, who graduated from TTU, were discussing this last night. IDT the powers at Tech would do it because it would mean they would have to admit they were wrong to fire him, which I doubt they can stomach. However, if they did see fit to do it, I could see a scenario where Leach would take the job just to get the satisfaction of the last laugh. He's that kind of guy.
