LCD yellow edges...

So i've got a Sony 1080p..had it about a year now. I love it.

jsut noticed that when the top right corner is yellowing..everything is tinted yellow, especially when it's a normal broadcast and those bars are there. Very disturbing.

Anybody know what causes this? I got the extended warranty on it...which covers bulb replacement. Is that possibly it? or is this a bad bad thing?

I'm kind of upset about this...but all things in life can be fixed. I hope.

Ah thanks for the tip. Seems like this is a recurring issue that all of these TV's are having.

Apparently Sony has extended the warranty coverage on the defective part. That's good.

I put a call into the extended warranty place thing I have and they're coming out this week to look at it. Hopefully it will be an easy fix.

Any idea on how often I should replace these bulbs? I get one free replacement under my warranty. It's been about 18 months. I thought it had only been a year when I made my original post, but nope..was 7.06 when I bought it.

Since I watch it everyday I don't know if I'll notice when the bulbs starts to fade. So I figure maybe I should just get it done.

I had the same issue with mine. You need a new optical block which would be very exepnsive if you weren't covered by a warranty.

There is a proposed class action settlement in the works which will allow for you to get your money back on anyextended warranty purchased through Sony. Here is the link:
