I am going to hit Costco this weekend for a new TV. The space that we have will hold a 37". I looked at thier website and found the following two that look promising. Whice one will I be happier with?
I would go with the sharp unit. Not really for the resolution, but more for the better panel and th better video processing. If you are in Austin, I have a Toshiba that I think is better then both and I could hit you for around 900. pm if you are interested.
I can vouch for the quality of the 37" Vizio you're looking at. I own that same television, although the specific one you're looking at may be an updated version of the same model. I bought mine last July 4th (same day Transformers opened) and have been so impressed by the unit. It is really good for the cost.
Sharp makes a better television, but when a budget needs to be considered, the Vizio is a great choice.
hlaustin is your man. I just arranged a surround sound installation through him. Couldn't be more pleased with the results and the professionalism of the installer.
If I had to choose between those 2, the Sharp is a much better panel than the Vizio. But, for an extra $150 I would buy the Toshiba from hlaustin. The Toshiba will run circles around the Sharp and Vizio panel.
Agreed, the Tosh is a fabulous set and Tosh LCD has advanced light years since the 196 series plagued by poor backlighting and outsourcing of parts to Korea manufacturers - including screens (I was an unfortunate beneficiary of said issue - and the fact that I would still recommend today's Tosh speaks volumes about my opinion of them).
