LBs for '09

Would be great to get 1/2 LBs in our small class. the top 2 in TX appear to be:
Austin Moss - #26 TX Rivals - 6-3 - 210 about 4.65
and
Chris Williams - #33 TX Rivals - 6-1 - 220 about 4.55

I have seen highlights of Austin Moss and he seems pretty good. Might me a better ILB in 3-4 but does swarm to the ball well. His So video was way better than Jr year. He seems to be a very good player. Needs to add about 20 lbs without losing speed. He has 84 tackles/5 sacks/4 tackles for loss as a So and 142/4/14 as a Jr.

Havent seen Williams yet.
What do yall think about both or other LB prospects?

has Chris Williams even been invited to a jr day?
Pratt was offered as a LB
Tariq Allen, Kerry Hyder, Chris McAllister, Austin Moss, and Patrick Nkwopara have supposedly been invited to the Feb 23rd jr day.

yeah i remember reading that those guys were coming in for a visit.

Tariq Allen - #65 - 6-2 - 230 - 123 tackles, 23 TFLs, 6 sacks
- he has already been to visit blOU and Aggie

Kerry Hyder - #80 - 6-2 235 - 24 tackles, 3 TFLs in only 3 games
-injury?

others are not ranked by rivals yet

We were talking to two-time all-state LB Tanner Brock from Copperas Cove. Not sure if we have been since MacDuff left.

Brock attended OU's Jr. Day, and is being heavily recruited by Notre Dame. Wish we would get on it. He is a beast.

WOW!
Tanner Brock - #75 Rivals - 6-3 - 205 - 229 tackles and 23 TFLs in his SO year!!
is that a type o? wow those are unreal #s. that is over 16 tackles a game.

Chris Williams is not coming to any of our junior days as of now. But the number 1 LB prospect in Texas is by far and away Chris McAllister. He'd be a huge pickup.

A lot of people think Roderick Goodlow (6'1" 190 lb safety) is a great prospect at LB. The kid has great height in his family, brothers are 6'8+...so he isn't done growing. He is attending our 2nd junior day

Chris Williams is a classic Miami mold LB. Think Jonathan Vilma. Vicious hitter and very fast. I wonder if he has his grades?

I haven't seen too much of McCallister, but if he's better than Williams he's a hell of a player.

McAllister is a beast and I would love to see him in Austin. He was a late move by the Judson staff to LB from DE, and I can tell you from being around the program that he is the reason that they were able to make a playoff run. He had 56 tackles in the first 3 playoff games and that avg continued throughout their run. He is a great character kid, a hard worker, and being related to Deuce McAllister doesn't hurt the gene pool. Look for him to be an early LSU lean, but really hope he chooses the good guys.

- Tariq Allen should end up at A&M, proto ILB
- Dexter Pratt would be a badazz LB, but he is hardup for RB
- Tanner Brock is an OU or L$U Lean...(I think)
- Chris Williams has serious grade issues, so expect A&M to offer
- I've heard Hyder will be a DE
- Austin Moss is considered a heavy OU lean

I rmember reading somewhere that Tanner Brock was a lean somewhere; I just remember that it wasnt A&M and am pretty sure it wasnt the Horns...

It is a good year for LB's thats for sure.

He went to OU's Junior Day two weeks ago, so he is probably a lean there.

I have known the kid for several years, so I can pretty much accept him going anywhere but there. Of course, I don't say anything about recruiting and Texas, because I don't want to become a "booster."

Lots can change in a couple of weeks, especially if we get Brock here for junior day. Is he scheduled for the next one?

Sounds like it.

Get after him hard, Mack!

210 lbs and 4.65 doesn't say big time prospect to me. if he's a player, then he's a player, but his physical stats don't impress me.

A legit 4.65 might have made the guy our fastest (starting) LB last year. 4.65 is fast enough for a whole lot of linebackers in the real world, but it might suck on your Playstation.
