Laying carpet over tile stairs?

I have tile stairs and I'd like to lay carpet over since I have a couple of toddlers but don't want to rip up the tile. If I use liquid nails or any other adhesive, won't that ruin the tile? I'd like to eventually pull up the carpet to use the tile again. Alot of what I'm reading says you can't carpet tile. Any floor contractors out there that know?

I'm guessing that you'll eventually notice the grout lines through the carpet.
