Lawn-Boy

Anyone else out there have one of those classic green machines? They're built like tanks and last for decades. I grew up mowing with a Lawn-Boy that my dad bought for me. There's something about that staggered deck, that powerful 2-Cycle engine that never quits, never having to change the oil. Ahhh, Spring is here. Be one with the yard.

Incidentally, Lawn-Boy had to discontinue production of the famed 2-Cycle DuraForce Engine due to some stupid EPA Regulations. The classic Lawn-Boy mower, with the staggered aluminum deck, and 2-Cycle Engine is now becoming scarce in stores, but you can still find them at some places. Lowe's stopped carrying the line this year (Home Depot picked them up with the new 4-Cycle engine design), and has some 10323 models on clearance. People are snapping them up and selling them for a premium on Ebay. If you can find one, jump on it.

Lawn Boys were the ****. I use to use my graddaddy's lawn boy when I was thier...uh..lawn boy. That thing was indeed built like a tank, and if I remeber correctly, reasonably priced compaired to other mowers on the market that were more cheaply made and gave out after a couple of years. I most recenlt bought a Toro. That thing sucks. But not as bad as my dads mulching craftsman. God I hate that thing. It doesnt cut worth a ****.

i have had a 1023 model for several years. great mower, but that 2-stroke motor is so loud i'm forced to wear hearing protection.
