Latrell Sprewell is broke

Where do these "millionaire celebrities" spend their money? One year of that kind of income would set up my entire family for the rest of our lives. It boggles the mind to know where it all goes.

I am now waiting for the "sappy" article about how he spent all of his money on his friends and family. I am sure it is not his fault.

What a loser. This sits very well with me. I always tthought he was a complete jerk. I guess his last contract wasn't big enough to feed his kids after all.

I wonder how much his agents took. The dude was not a brain surgeon. He should have put at least 1/2 away for his remaining 30-50 years of life after the NBA. I never like these stories, even when a guy like Sprewell is the brunt of it.

I happened to luck out and meet Robert Reid and Gus Williams at a charity golf tournament a few months ago and the subject of Sprewell came up between them. I pretty much shut the hell up and listened while they conversed. Reid asked Williams if he had heard about the yacht problems Spree was having and they both lamented about how stupid some athletes can be. I had the feeling that both Reid and Williams were set for life just by the way they were talking. Made me feel pretty good for both of them, while they were very good players, neither was what you would call a superstar, and I'm sure neither made the kind of dough that Spree pulled down. Anyway, Reid's comment was quite telling "why's he got a yacht, I bet the n* can't even swim."

In no way does someone defaulting on a loan mean they are broke. It could just mean he doesn't want to pay and that his money is tied up in other things. There are legal ways to do this that wouldn't cost him cash

Ain't karma a *****? Hard to feel a great deal of sympathy for him after some of his past antics.

Kinda makes you wonder if he owes the IRS any money, too...

What a terrible waste. He says his kids need to eat? Hell, with all the money he made, he could have afforded to feed all of Warren Jeffs' kids in addition to his own. I feed my own three on far less.

dude's racing company was one of the first to team up with the guys who invented spinners and partnered in the development and distribution of spinners from the outset. how has he not taken in millions off those stupid rims as well?

I remember when Bill Simmons learned Sprewell had a yacth. He wrote that he had da visual image of Spree wearing a yachting had on a boat called the "Beyotch."

hahahahahahahahhahaha at latrell.. ******* idiot. enjoy being normal, *******

House $400K

Boat $1.3MM

My guess is that's not his primary residence, he doesn't give a damn about his credit rating and he's got plenty stashed away.

Or maybe not.

I tend to agree with McLovin here. If he was truly "broke," wouldn't there be a bankruptcy filing? If you don't have any equity in a home, don't want it anymore, and don't care about your credit score, the easiest solution can be to just let the bank foreclose.

Shaq may be a few years behind him, but the recent discloser of his monthly spending habits makes me wonder about that guy. I have no idea how he'll be able to keep on spending so much money after his ex-wife gets through with him.

His yacht was repo'd and sold at auction for $500,000 less than he owed on it.

The house is not nearly as big a clue as the boat. He either has so much money he doesn't give a flip about losing half a million $$$, or he's broke. I'm guessing it's the latter.

HA HA HA!!

his boat costs 3 times his house, so even if he doesnt have the house any more, he has a pretty good boat to live on. dont know if it will be big enough for all his kids. maybe big shot bob can give him some pointers.
