How about dem Secret Service agents (in Columbia)? I guess the ho's there must be hotter, cheaper, or easier to access than in the States. A competitive advantage for Columbia (in addition to coke production)?

Thought this article was interesting. It says DuPont is making relatively cheap car (light) armor kits available in Brazil for 11 common vehicle types including Toyota Corollas and Chevrolet Cruzes that can stop [up to] .38 caliber bullets. I didn't realize carjacking, kidnapping and other crimes were such a problem for an emerging economic powerhouse like Brazil.

DuPont's armored car kit a hit in Brazil

I read an article, I wish I could find it, about a bakery in Rio de Janiero. Two guys came in to try to rob it, but they were not together. Eventually they got in a gun fight with each other. One was killed, the other wounded, and the bakery was damaged, but not robbed.

Talking with an upper-middle class Brazilian a few years ago, security is one of their primary concerns. Robbery is more common there and much more violent in nature. I described to him the larceny in my neighbor in Austin too. He was surprised that we had any problems like that but did note that it still sounded safer.
