LMAO. They jump to #2 for beating a 1-4 Mississippi State team.

My post has Mizzou, much as I hate them, as #2.

Bama jumped us and LSU jumped Mizzou. Nice.

Though I noticed Mizzou trails by only one-point so it's basically a tie.

I wonder if we'll get as much love for having 3 Big 12 teams in the Top 5 like the SEC did last week.

How do the horse pigs with a 4-0 record, including impressive wins over a division ll high school team and a Pac-10 doormat, get ranked above a 5-0 Alabama team which has wins over 2 SEC teams and a ACC contender including beating the # 3 Georgia team at Georgia?

USC got punked by an unranked 25-pt underdog team and still stays in the top 10?

This early in the season, the trend is to go by W-L record and stay underneath all the undefeated teams. Then take a few weeks to get gracefully admitted back in with the big boys. But, hell, four days after getting embarrassed?

Now, Georgia. They were down 31-zip at half time and here they are tied at #10. ?? The truth: Bama is pretty good but not that good; Georgia is just that bad.

Three Big 12 teams in the Top 5, all with QB's that should be 1-2-3 in Heisman talk. So much for the SEC. They sucketh.

LSU will lose two regular season games. They don't have a quarterback. LSU is where they are because they are undefeated following a title year. Otherwise, Horns are #4.

It all shakes out in three more Saturdays.

This week was all about the SEC with bigger games and 4 teams in top 10. Now that Florida and Georgia have lost and they only have 2 teams left in the top 10, the focus will be on the Big 12 this week. The Big 12 also had 2 of its 4 top 10 teams with bye weeks so now that everyone is playing there should be a ton of focus.

What I don't like seeing is Georgia getting taken to the woodshed and only dropping to #10. That team was down 31-0 at halftime and should have dropped as far if not farthern than Ohio St. did...I mean OSU at least lost on the road.

Also don't like seeing USC dropping to only #9 when they lost to a 2-2 team that wasn't ranked. They were down 21-0 at halftime. F'ing A man. That to me means you go below many of the undefeated teams like Utah, OSU, Vandy, etc. The BCS and its computer polls can figure out if a 1 loss USC is better than an undefeated OSU but in regular polls I don't like them laying an egg against that Oregon St. team and still being top 10... F that.

Florida as well losing to an unranked Ole' Miss team. Drop them lower.

Big time big school preseason bias built into these rankings.

why is usc ranked in the top ten?

WOW... 4 big 12 teams in the top 7... we play the other 3... we play 4 in the top 16... 5 in the top 25... ****... it will either be glorious or devastating...

USC love apparent. When Michigan lost to App state last year they dropped from like #3 to unranked. I see the USC loss as almost that bad. Not quite as drastic but this should have put them in the high teens or twenties.

Based on current rankings, TEXAS plays the toughest schedule remaining, out of all Top 5 teams.

During the course of the next seven games, Horns play #1, #3, #7, #16.

Neither Alabama, LSU, OU or Missouri face a run like that.

Again, based on "perceived" current rankings.

Wait? No, I just checked again and it still says Tech is ranked higher than Florida, USC and Ohio State. Amazing.

They probably lose to KSU now.

I haven't seen the game yet, but we beat Arkansas by 42 and Bama beat them by 35. We all knew georgia was over rated so why did Bama jump us?

my top 5

ou
bama
mizzou
lsu
Texas

based on best teams, this is my order. i don't care where you started out in the polls or if you even did. do this date, these are the best. had bama been ranked 23rd, i'd still say they're 2nd. not their fault the pollsters thought they knew who was better than who.

There's nothing in the poll I didn't expect. 'Bama gets lots of love for wood-shedding Georgia, and jumps us pretty much had to happen. LSU's getting love for last year's title. I actually like where Texas is right now...higher than I'd have ever thought we'd be going into the season, and if we take care of business over the next five weeks, the poll business will shake out just fine.
