Last WWI vet - George Will

That dude has an amazing story. Survived WWI, then just happened to be in the Philippines when WWII started and ended up a POW of the Japanese even though he wasn't in uniform at the time. He survives that and then ends up living to be 107 so far.

I bet he's got some good stories to tell.

One of my grandfathers fought in WWI. He passed away in the mid 60s before I was born. From what my father told me, he didnt speak much about the War.

Mtygreat grandfather who I knew only a bit - i remember sitting on his porch in West Virginia, I must hav ebeen like 6 or 7 and he told me stories about WW I. I remember it too. He got mustard gassed.

He told me a sotry about where he was sitting in a trench and a bunch of guys came walking down the trench and he thought hey were british - but they were germans with british helmets. I was probably too young for the story but he told me they fought hand to hand with rifles and bayonets.

At the time I couldn't appreciate what that meant.
