How in the Hell did Ron G make it to the finals???

His 3 minutes of making a noise got him through to the finals? Are you kidding me????

I went and saw Josh Blue a couple of weeks ago. Apparently he won this show. He was funny. That is all.

This show should be called "Worst Comic Standing". What the hell does that guy from the sopranos know about comedy? There were some funny people in that final list but Ron G was not one of them.

The show is great though I have two issues at times:

1) There is a pronounced effort by the show to diversify the group regardless of talent or performance. A lot of the comics seem to fit within a certain mold/box - the asian guy, the fat guy, the dry brit, the zanny black guy, the "cool" black guy, the wry sarcastic NE chick, the quirky chubby chick. I guess the judges have seen a thousand comics so anything they view as different is better, but the group is so predictable. It pisses me off that Ron G beat out Andi Smith (or anybody for that matter).

2) Comics who do the same material several times. Some even go with the same routine back to back. I mean, come on. I realize its a new audience in front of you but its about the millions of people at home watching.

Pol Pot was funnier than Ron G. Mrs. R made me mute the TV during that fraud's bit. That noise was just irritating. And did you notice, neither judge really laughed much during his piece? Must be pre-determined what the makeup of the group is going to be. There is no other way to explain how Ron G. and the Fedora-wearing Brit advanced. Hell, the goofy-*** weirdo hick from Tennessee seemed to be one of the crowd favorites based on applause. Andi Smith and Dan Naturman both are now two-time losers who are much funnier than many of the people who beat them out. I mean seriously, "You have a wood leg...you're almost a table." That's gold right there. In the show's defense, it is called "Last Comic Standing" not "Most Talented Comic Remaining After the Bad Ones Have Run Out of Good Material." Look at last year. Jon Reap, the freaking "Hemi" guy from the Dodge commercials beat Levell Crawford. How on earth did anyone laugh at him? His material was tired, shallow, and pedestrian. Besides, redneck humor is certainly not funny, but for some reason, it sells. Look at all the Git-R-Done decals on trucks. The biggest travesty of last season's show was that Gerry Dee did not win. He was far and away the funniest comic with Levell Crawford a close second. Gerry finishing 3rd was complete B.S.

Okay, how is no one mentioning the stupid singing duo whose name I cannot remember. Ron G was annoying, but how long can the cheesy virginity singers last? There were about 4 people funnier than the people chosen. There were only 2 worthy of moving on that were actually chosen. This show is getting simply stupid. They went out on a limb when they asked someone from Law & Order and The Sopranos to be the "talent scouts". At least in the past they have had comedians doing the selecting. I give it one more episode and if next week is as bad, I am done. Just NOT funny!

Richard Belzer was a great stand up comic back in the day.

The Sopranos guy is I guess using his bit as correspondent for Jay Leno as a springboard to this.

Steven R. Schirripa(The Sopranos) started his career as an entertainment director at the Riviera Hotel in Vegas. He dealt with and worked with many comedians...Drew Carey comes to mind. Before his role on the Sopranos, he had many parts in comic movies and TV shows.
