Las Vegas?

Just returned from a business trip to Las Vegas and had a blast. Can you imagine how incredible a Texas - UNLV game would be?

Playing at UNLV would give the fans a great road trip to a convenient location with enough hotel rooms, provide exposure on the West Coast (I understand that Nevada isn't on the coast), provide a likely W and also could generate some additional sponsorship dollars. While I am fairly certain we won't be seeing "Texas - UNLV presented by the MGM Mirage Hotel Group", the hotels would pay a fortune to get Texas fans there for 3 or 4 days.

Seriously, someone needs to make this happen. Thoughts?

The road game to New Orleans (Tulane) in '02 is still one of my favorites. We flew in a couple days early, went to Beau Rivage in Biloxi, then the game and a night on Bourbon Street. I'd be all over a road game in Vegas.

For several years, I have been telling anyone who will listen that we should schedule UNLV. Between those in Texas looking for a trip to the ones living in SoCal, you have to think that a minimum of 20k Horns would show up. It surprises me that big name schools (Mich, Fla, UGa, Neb, whomever) aren't calling UNLV weekly to try to get their fans a game in Vegas.

Lots of distractions and temptations for the players ( and some coaches, not ours

Most probably do not want the headaches just to make the fans happy. I would go for sure!
