We are going to Vegas on Easter weekend, March 21-23 for my wife's birthday. We age staying at Mandalay Bay and was curious to see what things you guys have experienced there.

Neither one of us have ever been to Vegas so any info would be greatly appreciated.

It is greatness. Lots of good places to eat in THE Hotel and Mandalay Bay. I would do dinner at Mix or at the very least go to the bar for a drink...very cool view of the strip. Aureole and Charlie Palmer Steak are in THE Hotel and The Four Season Hotel (in one of the towers at Mandalay Bay)

The wife and I are big fans of The Hotel at Mandalay Bay; we have been to The Hotel 4 times. Though we've never stayed at the "regular" Mandalay Bay, a co-worker has and he likes it a lot. I'd vote for Stripsteak as a restaurant to go to there in the complex. And if you are not too squeezed for time, check out the Mandalay's pools.

The one bad thing about Mandalay is its location: the far south end of the Strip. So unless you plan to just hang around the Bay or nearby Luxor, MgM Grand or NY, NY, be prepared tp part with some clams for taxi rides if you and the missus are not into walking.

Good god you are there the first weekend of the NCAA Tourney - do NOT leave the Ceasar's or Mirage sports book

yeah that's march madness. **** will be crazy packed, table minimums will be high, but it's a fun time to be in town.

i'd stay AWAY from the big sportsbooks though. unless you just get off on being in a big crowd and not being able to get bets in, get a drink, or get a seat, go to some of the smaller places....there will still be a crowd but it'll be manageable.

There are some shops and restaurants in the Mandalay Bay shops which connect MB to Luxor. That's where Burger Bar is located, and they have lots of TVs to watch games (probably will be packed though).

I advise renting a car...parking is free everywhere and it will allow you to escape the Strip crowds and see everything. Hoover Dam is only about 30-40 minutes away.

I would actually advise against renting a car. It is more of a hassle then it is worth. Went for the first time in Jan with a car and thougt it would be great to try and drive around. Attempted once....quickly realized it was a bad idea...and kept it in the parking lot.

Burger Bar is pretty pretty good. You could always do what we did last year for the same weekend. Leave MB and go watch the games at Hooters and hit on some trashy cali gals on spring break.
