Laptop monitor???

alright, so i cleaned my monitor last night with some windex. it had a bunch of smudges on it. now there is some discoloration and spotches when the monitor is on. did i **** up? anyone else do this to a laptop monitor?

I guess you could try using a damp (with WATER) cloth to clean the rest of the Windex off and see if that helps any. But if you've damaged the surface of the screen, I would imagine you're essentially ******.

In general, it's a bad idea to use Windex or any other similar cleaner on ANY monitor screen, including CRTs. My officemate has made an enemy of UT's ITS department because he has ruined three CRT monitors by cleaning them with glass cleaner, even after being told not to.
