Landscaping Pavers

Anyone done their own work with pavers? We're considering a back yard garden with pavers, but it looks like a mountain of work installing them.

Are you talking about the stackable ones?

I think they are too expensive for what they look like when you are done. I would prefer to hire some stone masons to build beds with stone and mortar.

I had a patio and walkway done about 3 years ago. Will post some pics later. It is a mountain of work if you do it right. You have to dig out the area, then pour in a base, pound it down with a packer, then another layer of finer base, level it and pack it down, then lay the paver, keeping them level, pound them down, then file between the pavers with sand, then pound them down. The guys laid a metal edging material around and they cut the arc with a huge walkbehind diamond cutter. It took them 2 1/2 days to do all of this.....I would still be working on it, 3 years later. IMHO, paying someone to do this is worth twice the cost. Having the materials delivered, the cost and hassle of renting the pounding machine and the walk-behind and table top cutters. Plus, keeping the whole mess level while compensating for water runoff.
