Landis Admits Doping, Alleges Use by Lance et al

Floyd, the only cyclist ever to be stripped of the Tour de France's crown, blew his credibility out the end of a syringe. Now, years later and after all his frivolous legal appeals are exhausted, he admits he lied all along and throws former teammates under the bus.

According to another article, he's accusing Lance of doping to "clear his conscience" and because he hopes WADA can prosecute Lance before the 8 year statute of limitations runs out:

Every time this comes up I hold my breath. I know this topic has been beaten to death around here, but if LA turns out to be a cheater and a liar about doing so, many people in my family [incl. children and elderly who don't know anything/much about cycling] will be heart-broken, disappointed by a man who is, to us, a great American hero, both in sports and otherwise.

("Say it ain't so, Joe!")

CJ,
I understand how you feel. I have admiration for Lance for all his accomplishments, on and off the bike.

But Floyd is just another flunkie in a long list of flunkies who have "accused" Lance of doping. Further, Floyd's actual "accusation" against Lance is puzzling when compared to what he and others supposedly did: Floyd admitted to drinking testosterone, using testosterone patches, and ingesting EPO, etc.

On the other hand and paraphrasing him, he accuses Lance of "teaching" him about tainted blood and seeing Lance's blood stored in a refrigerator. Does that sound credible coming from a serial liar like Floyd?

To date and based on the news articles I've read detailing Floyd's accusation, he's never flat out said he saw or witness Lance doping. I put this in the same trash bin of prior accusations.

Yes,this has been beaten like:

But Lance remains the most tested for doping (all negative) and now most accused cyclist.

What a dirty business this is. It's what finally drove me away from Major League Baseball.

Stay true, Lance!, and go get another one in France this summer!

It is disappointing to read the allegations, and I hope they are false. It is hard to know anymore. Why did Landis get caught, and if all the others were doing the same, why didn't they get caught?
I know the tests are imperfect, but they get samples for years and retest them when newer and more accurate tests are developed, and Armstrong has never failed these tests. There are a lot of authorities trying to catch him, more than any other rider. I know it doesn't prove innocence, but it is the best we have right now.
Show me the proof.

People will only believe what they want to believe.

As for Landis, he seems to be on a downward spiral, with suicide as its terminating point.

Gun to your head and you life on the line I don't think many people would say Lance Armstrong NEVER took a PED throughout his career. Sure the proof isn't there to convict him but we all know he's probably a doper.. same with Clemens

Landis is trash.

That Landis article linked by mandingo is disturbing.

Landis isn't just a liar, he'll stick a shiv in and **** with your head in truly sick ways even if only for a momentary lift. This latest act clearly isn't the first time he's gone too far. scary sad.

One of the claims by Landis, that LA tested positive before the 2002 Tour of Switzerland, then paid off the testing agency to hide the results, was refuted by the then head of the UCI, according to one of the links in Mandingo's article about Landis.
Landis does sound like a ruthless scumbag.
I don't think a positive test would or could be hidden by a European cycling regulatory group, and the head of that group called the assertion a complete outright lie. Too many people would know about it.
Anyone in a position like Landis' who makes such an assertion casts doubt on the person so charged, and we can never know with certainty is there is some truth to the accusations, but Landis seems to be willing to fabricate big lies, and obviously has done so in the past.
I don't want to be naive, but I will stick to the "show me the proof" line and choose to believe LA on this one.

Let's do a money comparison thing here. Back then did Lance have enough money to silence a test? Really? Did he compared to the amount of money somebody could have gotten by releasing the result or leaking it out? I think not. The press worldwide would have made that person a millionaire a couple times over for leaking that story. They would be the hero of the cycling community worldwide for an eternity as most did not like Lance because they were envious and wanted him knocked off his pedestal. Whoever leaked this, had it ever happened, would never have to pay for another Campari and Soda anywhere they went.

Landis is a ****.
