Lance wins on a flat tire... Leadville 100

Been too busy today to follow it with a (modest) paid feed, but learned from Mellow Johnny's twitter and others, that Lance won the Leadville 100, and did so on a flat tire, and apparently with TDF level throngs of crowds surrounding him either before or right after the finish line!!

He broke the record for the event by 18 minutes, after stopping to pump up a deflating rear tire, and finishing the last few miles on a leaking tire.
Which would prove to some people he is on performance enhancing drugs, I suppose.

We were passing through Leadville while on vacation when that race was concluding. We were like, "Oh, must be a bike race or something going on!" We had no idea someone like LA was in the field because the riders we saw were in no way, shape or form in Lance's league, even with two flat tires. I bet Lance had already bolted Leadville by the time these guys came limping by us.

I just came across a receipt from Leadville. We were in town around 4:45 p.m., so Lance finished about 3 1/2 hours earlier. He was probably back in Aspen by the time we were in town.
