Interesting turn of events. It seems clear now that Lance will likely NOT ride the TdF, instead opting for the Giro. Too bad, as I'd like to see him go out winning on the Ventoux.

I think this is likely a concession to Contador - Armstrong looks to have the early season (Tour Down Under, California, Giro), and Contador gets the TdF and Vuelta. Seems fair.

Of course the cynic in me thinks it has something to do with the bizarre statement by the Giro organizers that they would not go back and retest any of the samples they had for CERA because "it's clear no one was using it at our race". Eh? Ricco specifically said that the testing needed improvement because he hadn't been caught up until the Tour. The Italians are worse than the Spaniards these days.

I agree with this concession. I'm a huge LA fan and have supported his foundation before he even won his first TdF. Having said that, I think this team's future lies with Contador. It would be a dissappointment if he took his skills to another team because LA decided to unretire. If they work it out as advertised where LA does the early races and Contator does the TdF, I think it's a win-win situation for Astana.
