Lance Armstrong: You are FIRED!

Armstrong recently stepped down as the chairman of Livestrong and fired from NIKE the same day. He was also let go from Trek, Anheuser-Busch, 24 Hour Fitness, Radioshack, Giro and a whole host of others. I didn't realize he had so many endorsements.

If you see life as a journey, not a destination, then Armstrong is in a rocky spot, but it doesn't undo all the glory and gain he had as the world's greatest cyclist and cancer survivor. Is he a villain forever or will he be forgiven? Maybe he can just lie low, enjoy some of his bank, and reemerge when his accomplishments once again outshine his cheating.

Lance's glory will be severely diminished, imo.

His "gain" will suffer a sizeable loss as well.

Will "all" of it be undone? No.

But ARod will not be remembered as an obsessive liar, traitor to those who disagreed with him, or as ringleader of a sophisticated drug-cheating team.

I agree that Lance Armstrong has a terrible image issue right now. I'm also contending that he enjoyed a lot of benefits, financial and otherwise, for beating cancer and holding the top spot in his sport for a very long time and barring time travel there's no way that can be taken away. I NEVER really liked the guy. He always came across as arrogant and self absorbed. But for a xxxhole, he's done a lot of good for the battle against cancer and popularizing cycling, which is a wonderful participant sport making many in this nation a lot fitter and healthier.

But by all means, let's go with the fact that LA hasn't admitted to taking drugs. Why don't we use that standard for all drug inquiries?
