Lame logic from your friends

What stupid **** have you heard from people you know as to why Alabama will beat Texas? This is what I heard yesterday from a doctor friend of mine:

Doctor: "Texas doesn't have a chance. I did my residency in Georgia, and those people live and breath football."

Me: "Have you ever lived in Texas?"

Doctor: "No."

Me: "You realize that a lot of SEC schools -- especially SEC West schools -- recruit pretty heavily in Texas don't you?"

Doctor: "What does that have to do with anything?"

Me: "It means that there's some pretty decent football in Texas, too."

Doctor: "Yeah, but the SEC is the best conference."

Me: "Alabama has never beaten Texas. You realize that, don't you?"

Doctor: "Probably because they've never played."

Me: "Why don't you look it up? While you're at it, you could look up our record against the rest of the SEC and let me know what you find out."

Knowing how anal this guy is, I'd bet he did look it up. But he'll never admit it. These people are just the type who have Nick Saban beating his head against the wall.

what's the O/U on the pages for this thread come January 7th? Here's mine:

Vol fan: "Texas better play better than they did against A&M (favored by 21, win by 10) and Nebraska (favored by 14, you know the final score) or the Tide will hand them their jocks and show the horns the door"

ME: "how bad was Bama supposed to beat your Vols? It's 30 days of your kind of logic that will give UT an advantage in the BCS game. And I could give a **** about point spreads, just win baby!"

If anyone knows, please tell me what the spreads were for all three of the games mentioned. I thought we were only favored by 14 against aggy.

But hell it is even worse here in Texas and from our own fans no less. To read many posts you would think that the only reason Texas is any good is because of anonymous posters on the internet. Because our OC is a dumbass our HC is a genial idiot who recruits well but does not know Dick about X's and O's, etc...... I hear more criticism about Texas from supposed Texas fans.

I swear I don't know we win a single game because our kharma is for crap! I sometimes think we deserve another four or five years from John Mackovic just to shut everyone the hell up about how bad we are.

They have had their share of close calls against mediocre opponents as well.

You got the spreads right for our aggy and husker games.

My co-worker from FL is outraged that we won by a point and earned a spot for the MNC. He believes that had NU not helped us to win, that his Gaytors should be in a rematch!

This doctor is just a friend. I only mentioned it because of his residency comment.

However, I did just get back from seeing my dentist who is a genuine NU grad. I've had this spot on one of my front teeth he's been keeping an eye on for several years. He says I need to come back next Tuesday to get it drilled and filled.

Odd timing?
