It was a timely big game at that. In light of his new $50+ million contract, LA was taking some heat in the local media over the past week for not stepping up more in the preceding consecutive losses to PHX. I don't think there was anyone more grateful for B. Roy's return in yesterday's victory than LA.

With Roy back, it gives LA (as well as Andre Miller) access to the ball and the space to do their work. With Roy out in Game 1, they smothered LA but got torched by Miller for 31. LA still managed 22. In Games 2 and 3, PHX made a point to smother Miller which hurt Aldridge more than LA being doubled constantly.

The rest of the tied series should be competitive as hell. Portland got their leading scorer - and team balance - back. PHX punched the second-best record in the NBA since the All-Star break and won 14 of their last 16 games to end the regular season.

Too bad the ESPN announcers didn't take note, going from KD leading the upset of the Lakers, straight into LA leading the upset of the Suns, that there was a collegiate connection. Outstanding performances!
