TUALATIN - LaMarcus Aldridge missed the Trail Blazers first practice of the 2011-12 season after he had a recurrence of a heart issue that first surfaced in 2007.
Aldridge had a procedure Friday to treat Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (also known as WPW), an abnormality of the heart's electrical system that can cause an abnormal heartbeat and dizziness. Aldridge will be out one to two weeks, acting general manager Chad Buchanan said.
Aldridge missed the final nine games of his rookie season after having a procedure to fix the condition, which causes an irregular heartbeat.
