will the Lakers or the Spurs be seen as the team of the decade? One of them has come out of the West 10 of the last 11 years, interrupted only by Dallas in 2006, something amazing how these 2 have dominated the West.
Fisher is a HOFer in my book. Key starter and player on soon to be 4 LA teams.
I was thinking about this the other day that the 1st 3 peat LA team had 2 sure fire HOFers on the team in Shaq and Kobe. They also had Fisher and Horry who may end up worthy due to titles though their overall stats are nonspectacular. But other than that it was just a collection of role players to complement these guys. They had Lindsey Hunter and Horace Grant for a year I believe too. But who thinks about Rick Fox, Samaki Walker, Stanislav Medvedenko, Rick Harper, Brian Shaw, Mark Madsen, Foster, Rider, Lue, George, etc. In the end you remember the team had a few HOFers on which made it great and then just a bunch of other guys. On this current LA team you don't have that many future HOFers which makes this LA run so much more spectacular. Kobe doesn't have another sure fire HOFer on this team. Other than Kobe the only consistent player on the 3 peat team and this team is Fisher. That guy is provin his worth right now and arguably LA would not win this year without him. Kind of like SA possibly not winning a key game in the series against Detroit a few years ago without Horry stepping up. SA losses that game and SA might have lost that series.
fisher has sucked pretty hard this postseason and was 0/5 last night before hitting that shot so he was part of the reason they needed that shot.
he's been a mediocre starting pg for his career and a role player who has definitely hit some big shots but has been given lots of opportunities to hit big shots by virtue of the teams he's been on and the teammates he's had. that makes him an above average role player like a lot of other above average role players throughout history, not a hall of famer.
horry has been about as good and clutch a role player as you can be and he in no way deserves to be in the hall over so many other much better players who aren't in. no matter how much i like him.
Yeh I understand that they put guys in there for career stats and what not. But the leadership and character that some guys have that in large part contributes to their teams winning large # of titles should deserve another place in history. Without Horry and Fisher making key shots LA would not have won all their titles this decade that is for sure.
