Lakers fall to 0-3 the first time in 34 years. Wow great way to start off a new NBA season with all the block buster trades the lakers made in the ff season. At the rate the lakers are going at least they will get a lottery pick next summer

Their biggest need was at least one bench contributor. They failed miserably on that front. The good news is that Mike Brown will be looking for another job soon.

This reminds me a lot of 2004 with all the premature "greatest team ever assembled" type of comments, although some of the hype is tempered this year because of the existence of the Big Three in Miami.

Um Kobe has 5 rings with that sort of attitude. No one has ever accused him of being an "organized shootaround" kind of guy.

Brown was an awful selection from the start. They need a Zen master to let them be.

Interesting that they brought in D'Antoni instead. Sounds like Jackson wasn't willing to move on the salary and road trip requirements.

This kind of sounds like a Steve Nash "coach-of-the-bench" kind of decision. They didn't want to deal with Phil's demands and this way if they lose it's like "well he sucked in New York too."

Interesting that Jackson's camp is saying no demands, or even contract specifics were discussed in their meeting and they would wait until Monday to do so. His agent even accused D'Antoni's people of spreading the false information to the media.

Kobe didn't run off Phil the first two times. Phil was trying to pick and choose his retirement terms because of his health conditions and forced love of the game. Kobe loves Phil, and according to most reports, wanted him back as the coach again now. His tweets even alluded to this. I think he'll be a "good sport" for D'Antoni, but would have preferred Jackson. Especially with the mental case that is Metta World Peace still roaming the baselines.

And honestly, I don't blame him for running off Mike Brown. If you can't coach a team with Lebron or Kobe, there's something seriously wrong with you and your style. Sometimes we wish we had the authority to kick out our bosses, because they're not in tune with the organization or they're just plain idiots. Brown falls into both categories.
