Coming up for the 4th to Point Venture/Lago Vista - what's the story on boat ramp access to Travis?

Water level too low to launch?

There is only 1 ramp open. It's at Mansfield Dam and I believe it is limited to 1 ramp...

How deep is Travis? Isn't it down something like 30 feet? Wondering how much longer it'll be before no boat traffic is allowed??

Travis is half full:

Lake Buchanan 58
Lake Travis 51
Combined Reservoir Total 54

I kinda hope it doesn't rain and it empties out. Should be cool to see what's at the bottom. Maybe I can find my lost sunglasses from '98.

I went to Windy Point on 7/4 and the water level was 40 ft down.

It was horrible, you could drive your car 50 yards out into the lake.

Water level low as advertised, but we launched at Point Venture - i dont know how they pour concrete for the ramp that far under the normal water line, but props to them.

Spent a few days on the colorado north of LBJ lake, happy for the constant level there. Driving back toward Austin on 71 it was amazing to see the Pedernales completely dry.

A thunderstorm welcomed us back home to Houston last night. If I could I'd push some to yall.

There was an article in the DMN about how dry the lakes in Texas are and how bad the drought is. It is actually pouring in McKinney right now.....hopefully Austin is getting some rain as well.

Just checked today and LT is 48' down???? Is Austin not getting any rain? It has rained 11 orf the last 13 days in North Texas.

Austin has had about ten inches of rain since the rains started in September. Unfortunately, the ground is so dry that there hasn't been much runoff - the ground just soaks it all up. Lake Travis has risen less than two feet from the rain.
