Anyone been to Lake Garda before? We're heading there for a couple days in May. Looking for restaurant recommendations, sights, etc.

I've got plenty of lochs (or loughs as we spell it) here too. Just looking for one that has mountains, and nice wine, not looking for Nelly.

HorninDub,

Lago di Garda is a great place to spend a weekend. Its been a while since I was there though so I don't have any specific locales to suggest. I'm not sure how much of Italy you have seen but Verona is about 15 minutes away from Lago di Garda and is my favorite European city. It has the charm & history of Italy with the efficiency of Nothern Europe.

The Arena is a fully functional stadium that in my mind blows the Colosseum in Rome away. It's too bad that the summer outdoor theatre season does not begin until June because to see a play in the Arena is a pretty cool experience. There are also quite a few nice little trattoria's and restaurants scattered around the city center. And for vino you can't beat the Valpollicella, Chianti and Bardolo from that region. Buon vacanze!

I camped out at Lake Garda in 1963, beautiful place but can't help you out on restaurants. Lol.
