per Waco Trib story.

The date (Nov. 5) seems a bit odd, as in kinda of early.

If Kelley Cain is healthy, she will be a real load for Griner to handle. She's almost Griner's height (6-6 to Griner's 6-8), a lot more bulk, and experience. I doubt that Cain can match Griner's quickness and speed, especially coming back from knee surgery, but Griner will have problems in the half court game, trying to move Cain. I sure hope that this game is on tv since I won't be going to Knoxsville to see it..

Thanks for the link! I think that is a brilliant move by Mulkey. She is putting those players on the biggest stage in women's basketball right off the bat. Talk about getting your feet wet. What a way to start your college career for this young Baylor team...a road game at Tennessee.

I doubt that Griner will try to move anyone from their position. I suspect that she will let them establish their position and say "shoot over me if you can." And I doubt that few are going to shoot over her. Cain was slow this year and may be slower after this recurrence of her injury. Cain does have the bulk to move Griner off the block and you can bet that Summitt will be up in Cain's grill letting her know what to do. I also suspect that Baylor will run a lot of double-post offenses to take advantage of both Wilson and Griner at the same time. Wilson is a better player than Cain so she could very possibly get that defensive assignment if she is able to successfully come back from her injury by then.

How much fun would it be to see Griner drop a couple of dunks on those Tennessee fans, who thought that Parker's dunks were a big deal when she barely got over the rim.

We'd all have been whooping it up like Tenn fans if Parker had chosen Texas. I still say she's definitely the best female player I've seen in my lifetime.

And no, I am not old enough to have seen Clarissa play...
