The opportunity to play with the target on our backs will be a big help down the stretch. I know we won't go undefeated, but to have this kind of respect right now speaks volumes about what Rick Barnes has been doing here.

This is the type of team that can garner one of the No. 1 seeds come backet time, and having the honor of the No. 1 poll position right now only helps reinforce that.

Gotta tip our hats to Rick Barnes. This is a sign of respect for what the coach and team have accomplished. Of course, it ultimately means nothing, but still, a nice headline in the media. It does put a target on the roundball team's backs, but they weren't exactly sneaking up on anyone this year anyhow.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T! For Rick Barnes, for the program he has built and for the players/talent we have been building on year after year.

On a side note: you all know that aggy is having their eyes roll into the backs of their flat heads and having their faces turn green & purple with the hate envy they must be harboring at this moment.

Think about it. Our Football team won the Big XII conference, made it to the MNC, our BB team is undefeated and now ranked #1 in the nation as conference play begins, our Baseball team is preseason ranked #1 and let's not even bring up the "other" athletic prominence we are currently in standing with. Other than meat judging and sheep smooching, those agroids have nothing to compare themselves to THE University of Texas. They are no more relevant than A&M Corpus Christi.

Whew - it's GREAT to be a Longhorn!!!
